Brand Colour palette
Colour sets us apart and helps to evoke emotion.
The colours we’ve chosen for our brand are a key factor in differentiation and brand recognition. It is vital that our colours are reproduced faithfully and combined in the right way.
White plays a very important role in all brand communications and should provide balance with black. Any colour outside of those outlined within this section will be considered unauthorized.
It is important you think carefully about what colours are accessible. Web accessibility regulations require specific contrast ratios between a foreground colour and a background colour online.
Please follow these rules to ensure your colour combinations are accessible:
- Avoid green/red, blue/purple and light green/yellow.
- Avoid using colour alone to convey meaning – for example, don’t signpost by saying “click on the green button” (not everyone will know it is green).
- Ensure there is an appropriate contrast between your background and foreground colour. To ensure you're using an accessible colour combination (this is important for any digital content produced, eg digital documents, web content, emails etc), please use the WebAIM Contrast Checker.
Parent colours
The core colours of the NCL brand are white and black and our logo will always appear as one or the other. Our core colours are used to provide accessibility, simplicity, and consistency throughout all brand communications.
To achieve vibrancy in your design work, you can place the logo on a coloured background.

Secondary colours (internal use)
Our secondary brand colours act as a complimentary colour palette to the primary brand colours. These colours will be updated more frequently and often changed to reflect strategy trends and marketing goals.
- Permanent Geranium Lake - Red attributes: Power, love, passion, potency, energy, desire, action, determination and courage.
- Rich Black - Green Attributes: Ambition, growth, nature, optimism, spring, relaxation, youth, luck, environment, healing and wealth.
- Gold Crayola - Gold Attributes: Illumination, love, compassion, courage, passion, magic and wisdom.
Please remember that our logo must always appear in black or white only. It should never be coloured.
