Photography and Film
Our photography and film inspires our community.
The photography and film we use at NCL champions and expresses the brand through interactions, compositions, casting, locations, light and colour.
It provides clarification of how NCL connects people, places and communities. All of our imagery should convey a sense of who we are and clearly demonstrate our purpose, mission and values.
Our visual style is aspirational, inspiring, human, friendly and relaxed. When choosing a photo or video clip do keep in mind the purpose of your communication.
Content created should be relevant and help you to tell a story and connect with your audiences.
We are currently building a new bank of images of our facilities, students, staff members and stakeholders that you can use – please contact brand@nclan.ac.uk for more information.
If you have a bank of images of your department's facilities or of your students in action, please share these with the Brand and Communications team along with the relevant GDPR permission forms.
Stock photography
Please avoid using stock photography where possible.
Images of people, particularly those used to represent students or staff, should always be the College's own images and never purchased from websites or downloaded from the internet.
Similarly, images used to represent our course areas should always be images of our actual facilities - we must provide an authentic image of our own college and the people and facilities within it. This is incredibly important when building trust with our audience.
Stock images or graphics of objects to represent areas are permitted if there is nothing available from the College's image bank.
